For the team at St. Louis School, there is no gift greater than knowledge. To ensure your child is fully prepared for life beyond the classroom, we offer a British based National Curriculum (with an additional Italian stream for children fluent in the Italian language), along with an inspiring extra-curricular program designed to help your child reach and exceed their true potential. The future is theirs, and that future is bright.
Reception & Primary School – Ages 4 - 10
Middle School – Years 7 - 9
High School – Years 10 - 11
The first years of education are crucial to your child’s ongoing learning development. A friendly, happy and stimulating environment, our Reception class may be one of your child’s first introductions to life outside the home. Our academic programme is based on the Foundation Stage of the British National Curriculum, and will teach your child important learning and life skills including numeracy, phonics and communication.
For Primary School students, our emphasis is on providing the academic, social, linguistic and technological skills and knowledge required to navigate a rapidly changing modern world. Our learning programme is based on the British National Curriculum, with additional specialist streams offered to all of our students from Year 2. Students may follow either the British stream, which is designed to enhance English language and numeracy skills, or the Italian stream which is aimed at native Italian speakers and includes appropriate National level assessments. All students follow the same timetable with separate lessons dedicated to the specialist streams.
Preparing your child for the transition to High School, our Middle School curriculum provides students in Years 7-9 with the knowledge and skills required for Higher Education. As in Primary school, dual streams are available in English and Italian, and specialist subject teachers prepare students for either the Key Stage Cambridge Checkpoint and/or Italian Terza Media examinations.
Our High School academic programme is a comprehensive programme preparing students in Years 10 and 11 for the Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) International GCSE examinations. To ensure that your child is fully prepared for life beyond the classroom, extensive university counselling and career guidance is also available, along with work experience opportunities for students in Year 10. Students may also participate in pre-university courses, internships and volunteer projects both locally and abroad during the summer break.
At St. Louis School, learning isn’t confined to the classroom, which is why all of our students have access to a broad range of extra-curricular activities. Designed to complement their academic learning and strengthen their social, emotional and physical development, the programme is supervised by specialist teachers and includes a large variety of sporting, artistic and musical activities for all ages.
Our new campus at Via Marcantonio Colonna will offer up to 40 boarding places for boys and girls aged 14 - 18. Weekly and full-time boarding options are available, with purpose-built accommodation segregated by gender.
Boarders aged 14- 16 will attend our Day School at the M. Colonna campus whilst for our older boarders (16-18), students will spend their days completing their International Baccalaureate (IB Diploma) at our Via Pantano Campus, the Top Performing IB World School in Continental Europe. As a highly respected qualification, the IB Diploma equips our students with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in their next educational steps at prestigious universities and colleges around the world.
During the evening all boarders will return to the boarding house and will be expected to engage in a structured academic and recreational evening programme designed to strengthen their academic performance, build strong social skills and encourage full participation in boarding school life. Weekly boarders stay with us from Monday morning to Friday afternoon, while full boarders will have sports, activities and optional trips and excursions to fill their weekends.
